As National Women’s Health Week comes to an end, it still serves as a reminder for women nationally to prioritize their own health. U.S women are more of a higher risk to healthcare conditions such as:
1. Alcohol Abuse: Signs of addiction of substance abuse is more serious in women than men and can lead to increase in other conditions such as stroke, heart disease, breast cancer and pregnancy and fetal complications.
2. Heart Disease: One of the leading causes of death in the United States for both men and women, heart disease often goes undetected in women due to disparity in symptoms and hence turns out be more fatal.
3. Depression, Anxiety and Stress: These mental health conditions are much more prevalent in women.
4. Osteoarthritis
5. STD’s and STI’s (Sexually Transmitted Diseases and Sexually Transmitted Infections)
6. Stroke
7. UTI’s (Urinary Tract Infections)
