Happy New Year. myDoc Urgent Care wishes everyone a healthy and prosperous 2023.
The Philadelphia region continues to feel the impact of “Tripledemic”: Flu, COVID and RSV. The good news is that RSV is receding after a very challenging fall and winter surge, and flu appears to have plateaued after an early start of the flu season. However, a COVID new variant called XBB.1.5 is causing a new surge, and this variant is believed to be more transmittable than previous ones.
All three diseases have overlapping symptoms, which makes it harder to tell without a lab test. Most urgent care centers can perform testing to accurately identify the infection type, therefore make more relative treatment plans.
We encourage everyone to receive flu vaccine and COVID booster shot if you have not done so, this is still the best defense mechanism to protect you and your family.
myDoc Urgent Care is here to help you 7 days a week should you in need of testing, evaluation, or answering questions.
